The Steering Committee is part of the managerial structure of the project and is responsible for supporting the ERA Chair Holder in decision processes alongside the International Advisory Board.
The Steering Committee is composed of the Project Coordinator, Pedro Vicente, as head, the ERA Chair Holder, Adeline Delavande, and key Nova SBE actors in the inequalities theme: Pedro Pita Barros, Ana Balcão Reis, Maria Antonieta Cunha-e-Sá, Pedro Martins, and Susana Peralta. The Project Manager, Pâmela Mossmann de Aguiar, supports this board.

The foremost responsibilities of this committee include:

1. Adopt strategic decisions on project management;
2. Support the team recruitment panels;
3. Evaluate and promote the cooperation between the ERA Chair team and other researchers;
4. Identify ethical issues;
5. Support risk assessment and management.

The Steering Committee meets face-to-face twice a year and informally when needed.
